Changnyeong Street Market

Ever been to a Korean Street Market?
This market place is the biggest one in Changnyeong. The  o(5)-il-jang which opens once in 5days starts from early morning till early afternoon.  
 
 
 In Korea, still the older generations prefer the street market over franchise big mega marts.
What is good about the street market is that you can get a good quality products for a cheap price through bargaining.

 The flowers and trees are sold at a cheap price with so many varieties.

 The customers and street clerks come and enjoy the market foods of Changnyeong.
Look at the colors of these stews~! The price is only 6000 won.

The truck is loaded with so many different kinds of fruits.

 Here is a dried seafood corner. In Korea dried octopus and shrimps are used in cooking as well as snack with drinks.

Those who like to snack and taste bit and bit of everything, market is also a good place. Here they sell the famous homemade dumplings and donuts.

 Here is the seafood corner where the clerk cuts it into pieces for you.

 This is the dried herb section which is used for medicinal purpose. Some older generations buys these and makes a extract of healthy drink.

 This photo tells you how variety of dishes are developed in Korean foods. From salted to variety of spices, you will have a hard time to choose which side dish to try.

It is definitely cheaper than the franchised market place.
 

 There are other products than ingredients and food as well. These are the products made of bamboo strip. You can use this for storage or dishes.

Do you know about jangdokde? This earthenwares are perfect for fermenting and keeping foods for years and years. Many Korean people use it to store gochujang (red pepper paste), doenjang (fermented bean paste), and salted foods.
